Humanity, Vulnerability and Love

Having one of my favorite summers ever, I pause in gratitude. ... Yet too, I've recently touched places of humanity and vulnerability at times, amidst my strong "invulnerable" self. ... I am mindful we all have those soft spots... and I love this quote:

When we were children, we used to think that when we were grown-up we would no longer be vulnerable. But to grow up is to accept vulnerability... To be alive is to be vulnerable. (And I would add)..perhaps it is in coming to know our vulnerabilities, we touch places we most love and care.

  3. Glad you had a great summer. Your post goes hand-in-hand with your profile. I've discovered that all of the compassionate people I've met have encountered personal suffering. Gratitude, appreciation, and the like are sharpened in focus against the backdrop of past difficulties. Life is good. Enjoy Autumn!
